The Blog Project: College Reading

The Assignment:

-You are to choose a book and create an online blog using blogger.com.

Each week you are to blog about the book that you are reading using a strategy that we discuss in class. For example…if we have discussed “main idea” you must explain what the main idea is of the chapter that you are currently reading. If we’ve discussed “inferring”…choose a passage from your current chapter and explain something that you had to infer while reading that passage. Your blog entries need to be at least two full paragraphs (4 sentences each). In addition to your application of that week’s topic you should also summarize your chapter.

Sometimes your homework assignments will need to be submitted using your blog as well. For example, on the “Thinking Deeper” section of the book, these assignments will be submitted through your blog.

In your first blog entry introduce yourself. You may want to add pictures if you have any, explain how you feel about this blogging project. If it’s your first time to blog are your nervous? Excited?

Blog entries are due each Friday no later than 9pm.--ONLY FOR BOOK ENTRIES! (The time and date that you post will show up). Each week, I will post a reminder about what your assignment is on my blog, which is located at www.theblogprojectcollegereading.blogspot.com .
